Qui di seguito uno scambio che trovo da una parte imprescindibile, dall’altra deludente, avuto ieri notte con Noam, con cui dialogo da anni. Ma cosa abbiamo davanti noi che lottiamo a “Sinistra”? (non c’entra il PD, per rispetto della decenza umana)

(14 anni fa abbiamo avuto uno scambio lungo. Io ti dicevo che i metodi della Sinistra internazionale per ottenere giustizia sociale erano sbagliati, perché ignoravano che le masse erano state rese totalmente apatiche dall’Esistenza Commerciale e dalla Cultura Massmediatica. Tu mi rispondesti che invece le cose stavano migliorando molto grazie all’attivismo. Per favore leggiti l’ultimo rapporto Oxfam sulla povertà dal 2008, e mettici le guerre infinite che stanno scoppiando dappertutto. Chi aveva ragione Noam?)

Thanks. The facts are quite familiar. I’ve been writing about them for years, along with far more grim problems, including the two most important because they threaten human survival. It tells us nothing about whether there are better options for the international left. Noam

(Grazie. Sì, ci sono opzioni molto migliori per la Sinistra: una Coalizione Internazionale per l’Economia di Keynes-Mosler per l’Interesse Pubblico. Cioè: Keynes, Kalecki, Lerner (Functional Finance), Godley, Minsky, Parguez, Mosler, raccolti in Mosler Economics per l’Interesse Pubblico, piena occupazione, Deficit Positivi e l’abolizione del sistema finanziario, per essere breve. Ho provato a coinvolgerti ma tu non hai accettato. Sempre tuo P)

I’ve met Mosler and heard his work, and am fairly familiar with the rest. To refer to it as an option for the left is to misunderstand both the nature of the issues that we face and the nature of political engagement and activism. But if you think otherwise, by all means devote your energies to organizing the left on this program. Noam

So, we are underestimating the nature of the problem? Us? Not you? We propose:

– A Govt Deficit sponsored Transitional Job Guarantee Programme employing at a living wage 100% of the unemployed in the country and their families.

– The abolition of the Financial Sector in favour of a Public Purpose Banking System

– A Central Bank zero rates policy in the Public Interest and Tsy bonds emission in the Public Interest.

– A Govt Deficit sponsored Social Security System and full FREE Health Care for all system.

– All this within full Employment and Price Control in the nation, all this done by Govt Deficits and no inflation o devaluation problems.

– A full understanding of the history of the Neofeudal neoliberal neoclassical resurgence. And how to explain all this to the layman.

Ok, Noam you name to me anyone else who has a more comprehensive and feasible and realistic programme and knows Monetary Ops well enough to implement it. (because this is the real point at the end of the day Noam).

Come on, name to me who can do better than that and I’ll devote my time to him/her. Thank you for you attention, Paolo Barnard

(Ah! Davvero noi sottostimiamo la natura del problema? Noi, e non tu? Noi proponiamo:

– Piena occupazione finanziata dal deficit di Stato in via transitoria che occupi il 100% dei disoccupati e le loro famiglie a un salario di dignità.

– L’abolizione del sistema finanziario a favore di un sistema bancario per l’interesse pubblico.

– Tassi della Banca Centrale a zero ed emissione di titoli di Stato per l’interesse pubblico.

– Pensioni e Sanità per tutti sponsorizzata dai Deficit Positivi di Stato

– Tutto questo entro piena occupazione e controllo dei prezzi, attraverso i Deficit di Stato senza inflazione né svalutazione

– La piena comprensione del piano Neofeudale Neoclassico e della loro rivincita, spiegati all’uomo della strada

Ok Noam, fammi il nome di chiunque abbia un programma più completo e fattibile e realistico e che conosca le Operazioni Monetarie a sufficienza per metterlo in pratica (perché questo è quello che conta alla fine Noam)

Forza, dimmi chi sa fare meglio di così e io gli dedicherò tutto il mio tempo)
