PERTH, AUSTRALIA – A well-known radio host has suddenly died 2 months after receiving the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Russell Woolf, 56-years-old, got his second shot on Thursday, August 19th. The ABC radio Perth host died today in his sleep at his home. His sudden death has shocked people around him as he had no known underlying health issues.
The death of the popular Perth radio host was announced today by his colleague Geoff Hutchison:
“We’ve got some really sad news to share with you this morning that our beloved friend and colleague Russell Woolf died earlier this morning. It’s come as a huge shock to us.
Everyone here at ABC Radio Perth is in shock and trying to make sense of it.”
Woolf tweeted on August 19th that he had just received his second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
Woolf was the host of the breakfast program on ABC Radio Perth and had previously hosted the Drive program, during a career with the national broadcaster that spanned more than two decades. He was also the weather presenter for ABC’s West Australian television news from 2007 to 2011.
No cause of death has been released yet.
